Randy Fisher, Ottawa, Canada

President & CEO

Randy is the President & CEO of iCentro in Ottawa, Canada. He has 15 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, implementation and coordination, and significant experience in organizational design, process consulting and online facilitation for e-learning, productive communities-of-practice and high performing networks.

Randy uses wikis, blogs and social media technologies, tools and methodologies to support social collaboration, participation, action learning and stakeholder engagement. He is keenly aware of the importance of cultural change / transition and what’s required to support individual readiness and motivation for successful project/team buy-in, ownership and implementation.

Widely known as "WikiRandy", he is highly-regarded for his international leadership in Open Education Resources (OERs). He provides his expertise to support partnerships, organization development and capacity-building for the OER Foundation in New Zealand, the nonprofit entity for WikiEducator (a values- and project-based community of 18,000 educators in 120 countries), CollabOERate and other open education projects.

Prior his current roles, he was Senior Consultant and Facilitator for the Intersol Group in Ottawa, specializing in online collaboration and engagement. At the Commonwealth of Learning in Vancouver, he provided project management, process consulting and learning coordination services in Open and Distance Learning (ODL), including e-learning, governance, community media, higher education and international organizations.

He has an MA in Organization Management and Development from Fielding Graduate University (with a specialty in complex adaptive systems and community engagement using social media). He has a post-graduate degree in Journalism (King’s) and a BA in Political Science (McGill). He is a Certified Advanced Technology Manager (Newbridge Networks/CATA Alliance), and also holds certifications in the Birkman Method, Myers-Briggs, Strong, Instructional Design and Train-the-Trainer methodologies.

 

 

Anthony Van Alphen, Ottawa, Canada

Partner – Technology Architect

Anthony has a passion for connecting technology solutions together to enable clients to meeting their objectives – on time and on target. He has over 20 years combined experience in telecommunications and IT architecture, design, consulting and project management covering a broad range of networking, hardware, software and Internet technologies. He has worked at several large telecommunication firms including Nortel, Alcatel-Lucent and Research in Motion and has consulted for several other enterprise clients. He is currently Principal Consultant at Concept42 Consulting were he is engaged in developing Internet content management and e-Collaboration solutions for enterprise, retail and community based clients.

Anthony values the Open Source principle in which high quality shared technology solutions can combined with best in class processes to deliver optimal benefit for the enterprise. Using this approach he has delivered innovative solutions to clients in the social networking and collaborative internet domains. He has significant experience in process engineering and has applied this to successful corporate improvement initiates, providing project planning, business analysis, development and training to realize the end-to-end solution.

Anthony, who has an Honours BSc. from University of Waterloo in Physics and Computer Science and is also a Certified Scrum Master in agile development methodology.
